Polar Express

We just returned from a quick trip to Durango, CO to ride the Polar Express. It was a special train ride based on the book/movie. The kids wore their pajamas and on the train we were served hot cocoa and cookies and read the story. After about half an hour we arrived at the North Pole (an area decorated with Christmas lights and such). Santa was waiting and boarded the train to bring a gift to each child. The gift was of course a sleigh bell. There was lots of bell ringing on the way back to Durango. It was fun and Benjamin especially enjoyed it. It was nice to get away even if it was just for one day.

I even got some knitting done. Knitting in the car sure makes the time pass faster. I got one hat finished and started another.
