B-Day Cookie Recipe

I have had a request for the recipe for the birthday cookie I made for Jonathan. It is just a version of the Nestle Toll-House cookie. I just replace part of the flour with cocoa. Here it is.

1 3/4 cups flour
1/2 cup cocoa
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Mix these together.

2 sticks butter (softened)
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
Beat these together.

Beat in 2 eggs and 1 tsp vanilla.
Gradually add dry ingredients.
Stir in 1 pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips.

Spread in pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

About the pan - make sure it has at least 2 inch sides or leave room around the edge for it to expand. I put mine on a pizza pan and it expanded and ran out and burned on the bottom of the oven. Lovely smell!

You can also just make cookies with this recipe. They are yummy!

Robin, thanks so much! Maybe I'll make a batch first to see if we like them this way or the original way.
