Broken string

I should have stopped while I was ahead! As I was practicing my violin yesterday afternoon, I was having a hard time keeping my fingers where they were supposed to be on the fingerboard. I was about finished and ready to put the violin away when I realized what the problem might be. My strings were out of tune. I think I was subconsciously trying to adjust the pitch with my fingers. Should have stopped there! But instead I went and got Zachary's tuner and attempted to tune my violin. Should have waited until my lesson on Monday and had my teacher show me how! I successfully tuned the first 3 strings, then went for the 4th. And it snapped. So now I have to make a trip across town to get a new string. Hopefully they'll string it and tune it for me.

Note to self - Always wait and get help from the professional!

That's my motto too. If only I could afford a professional chef, housekeeper, accountant, nanny. I'm a pathetic amateur at all of the above!
