Changes

2009 has brought a couple of big changes to our family. First of all, we left a church we had been involved in for 16 years. It was a very difficult decision, as many of our friends attend there. But it just wasn't working for our family any more. The biggest problem was that we weren't going to church as a family. Greg works on Sunday mornings, and they only had a Sunday morning service. So we went without Greg. Our new church has services on Saturday night so we can all go together. It has been strange the last couple of weeks not going to church on Sunday. It's just ingrained in me, Sunday mornings = church. But I think it's more important that my kids see their dad going to church no matter when it is! I will start working in the nursery this Sunday though, so my kids will get double dosed. That can't be a bad thing!

The second big change is that Zachary is back home for school. This wasn't exactly our choice and I don't want to get into the details, but let's just say he didn't handle the social part of high school very well. So he's back home. We found an online program for him, Liberty Online Academy, through Liberty University. We just started this week, but I think it's going to work well for him. He's back in the homeschool band and may even get to switch to the tenor sax because the band owns one. He really likes the director and is happy to be back.

So the church change, though bittersweet, I'm excited about. The homeschooling a high schooler I'm not so excited about. But this is what God has for us now, so I'm taking it one day at a time and trusting Him.

God orders our steps, every one, but it's hard to trust sometimes. Change is hard, but also exciting!

Wow! Such big changes. I hope they all work out successfully. I had no idea Libery had an online homeschool program. Interesting....

My husband graduated from Liberty University and he was their head lacrosse coach 4 years ago.

That didn't end too well, though. He and my twin sons almost died while on a lacrosse road trip in Alabama. It was all over the news. You can probably still Google "Liberty University Lacrosse Accident) and expect to find results.

Changes are always scary. I am sure you will have no problems making the adjustments though. Best of luck with the homeschooling...yikes!
