Really Big News!

We are moving to Virginia!!!

Greg's parents and brother and sister have all ended up in the Fredricksburg, Va area in the last few years.  We go out there to visit just about every summer and love it there.  And we love the family.

About 5 years ago, Greg applied for a few jobs out that way (he works for the FAA and headquarters and the command center are out there), but none of them worked out.  Then we decided to adopt and put that little dream on hold.

Once Emily's adoption was finalized we started looking at jobs again.  Greg had a phone interview in December for a headquarters job, then flew out the end of February for an interview at the command center.  He didn't get either of those positions.  The beginning of March he had a phone interview for another position at the command center.  He thought he did terrible on that interview.

So several weeks went by and he never heard anything, so we assumed he didn't get the job.  Then out of the blue last Friday his boss told him he had heard from a manager out there and they would be offering him the job.  He got and accepted the offer yesterday!

We are so excited, but it will be bittersweet.  We have lived here for 22 years and have many dear friends.  But we are all so excited to get to live in beautiful Virginia and be near family (about 1 1/2 hours away).

Now comes the hard part.  They want Greg there ASAP.  So we have got to get the house ready and listed quickly.  Hopefully it will sell quickly.  We have done a little work today, but my mom and sister are flying in as I type and we have Zach's graduation and party tomorrow and a Rio Rancho Band concert Sunday.  So we can't really get to work until Monday.

The other hard part is Zachary.  He wants to stay here.  He started applying for jobs today and looking on-line at apartments.  I don't know if he's going to be able to pull this off, but if he does we will really miss him.  He is 18 and it's his decision.  I guess he'll grow up quick!

Oh wow... exciting and sad all at the same time. It would be hard to leave my oldest behind but so nice to be near family! Good luck!
