On top of that, M was very fussy (turns out she was cutting a new tooth) and Jonathan was throwing up sick. Yeah, not a good day.
After talking to her therapist, we know that J is probably testing us to see whether we are really going to love her no matter what. She also might be thinking if she's bad enough she'll get to go back to her other foster home. This poor girl has been through so much. Our prayer is that her case will get resolved quickly. She really needs a miracle.
Today has been a MUCH better day. J has been mostly cooperative. She didn't want to eat her breakfast. So I told her it would stay on the table until she was ready to eat, but no snacks or anything else. 30 minutes later she went back and ate it all. She got dressed all by herself and let me french braid her hair.
We even went to to Target and McDonald's for lunch. I bought baby shoes. Couldn't help myself!

Bless her little heart! You are doing good by her. My brother and sister in law adopted a little girl when she was a baby and adopted her half sister when she was 10. They are both such a part of our family. What you, Greg and the boys are doing is amazing and truly a God given gift! Praying for you!!!

Robin, I am so happy for you and your family. Amazing french braid. Think that took me three years to perfect with our daughter! I bought the Klutz book for braids and it heelped so much, but looks like you are going to do just fine! My prayers are with you. I see kids like this every week in my job and when they have a loving, understanding family it makes all the difference. I have only one bit of professional advice and you are already doing it: "Love them like Christ loves us
