Can't keep up!

With homeschooling and chasing a toddler all day, I just can't seem to keep up with blogging.  Sorry all 3 of you who actually read this!  Here's what's been happening.

We had a bit of of crisis with Zachary last week.  He hated school, hated his job, hated his family, hated his life!  I'm thinking there was a bit of depression going on and stress.  But we got through it and he's decided to finish high school (good plan Zach!) and quit his job.  He's had a very good attitude this week and has gotten a lot of school done.  He's working today and tomorrow and maybe next week, but then he will be done with Chick-fil-A.  It was a good first job for him and he learned a lot.  But it's just not worth it to be so stressed out over work at 17 yrs old.  We are actually hoping he'll just concentrate on finishing school before he tries to get another job.  He can probably finish by February or March.

Little Miss Emily (yes, I'm telling her name now, but still no pics until finalization) is doing great.  She really is trying to talk more, but everything comes out sounding the same.  She already has a developmental therapist that comes twice a week, but we all think she needs more specialized help.  So a speech therapist is coming next week to do an assessment.

Emily will get to go on an airplane next week!  She and I are flying to Houston to visit my sister and parents.  We already had this scheduled and then last weekend my dad had a couple of episodes of really high blood pressure and was refusing medication.  (He's ready for heaven.)  My mom got him to understand that we're coming and he decided to take the medication.  So I guess he'll stick around a little longer to meet his 10th grandchild.  For those of you who don't know, my dad had a brain tumor and surgery and radiation treatment almost 16 years ago.  He was supposed to live for 6 months.  He's since had a stroke.  He lives in a nursing home and cannot talk or care for himself.

I talked to J on the phone last weekend.  She sounded like she's doing ok.  She asked about the boys and Emily.  She said school is good and she's doing her homework "all by herself".  I sent her a package in the mail too, a new Fancy Nancy book and some little things she left here.  It's hard, but I guess we all have to move on.

Emily is awake from her nap, so I guess I'm done blogging!

You crack me up - all three of us. I'm sure their are others, but just lurkers. I get a lot of lurkers on my blog.

Sorry about your Dad. I hope your visit goes well and that Emily brings joy to everyone she meets.

And Zachary - I'll be praying for. I think it's tough that transition from child to young adult. My stepson just broke up with his girlfriend {the day before his birthday} and he was really down. So hard when they get older... {he is 22}

Senioritis is always difficult. Christian had it really bad but he's so glad he is in college now!
I am one of the faithful three...yes?
Glad you get to see your dad with Emily! It's so great! I'm sure he will be very happy to meet her!
