The hearing to terminate Emily's legal father's rights was today and termination was granted. She's free! We are hoping to finalize her adoption on November 18, National Adoption Day. I emailed our attorney today to see if that will be possible.
Regardless, there will be one more stocking hanging on our mantle this year.
I finished it last night. It just needs to be steam blocked and lined.
Emily and I are flying to Houston tomorrow to visit my sister and parents. My other sister and her family are coming down from Dallas for the day and my niece is coming home from college for the weekend. I will also get to see my friend Kristen of WeAreThatFamily and Mercy House. It's going to be a whirlwind weekend but I can't wait!

I can't wait to meet your GIRL!
I love that you followed your dream. (Uh oh, I feel a post coming on :)
I am so happy for you and Emily! Can't wait to get to see her!
LOVE the stocking!
congratulations to all of you! Hope to see you sometime. Will you attend any of the Balloon Fiesta events? Lynette
Came on over from Kristin's...congratulations on your upcoming finalization!
One of ours finalized on 11/25 a couple years ago and it was extra special to have it during National Adoption Month....
Your story with Emily (and the rest of your crew) is an encouragement!~ :)
So excited! We adopted one of our foster babies last National Adoption Day and one September 6th of this year. That is awesome that you don't have the 90 day appeal time period like we do in Texas. It takes so much longer here! Can't wait to hear about that awesome day! Kara
