One year ago today I got a phone call that would change our lives forever. A few hours after that call social workers brought 2 beautiful girls to our house. One stayed with us for 7 months. (By the way, I've talked to J on the phone a few times over the last couple weeks. Sounds like she's doing ok.) One is staying forever (well, not forever, I guess one day she'll move out!). Here's a photo from that day a year ago. (Since we are no longer a foster family, I'm not going to worry about posting J's picture here.)
Emily was so little! I remember being completely overwhelmed that day, thinking what in the world had we gotten ourselves into. But we quickly fell in love with both girls. We had great friends who helped us out and supported us in those first days.
And now here we are a year later. Emily is such a blessing to our
family and we thank God every day that he brought us together. I cannot
imagine life without her.
She is one very loved little girl!
