Concert in the Park

Zachary had a solo and ensemble concert in the park yesterday. It's part of his homeschool band program. He played a solo and a duet with his friend Joseph. Both were Star Wars songs. The guy in the middle of the duet picture is the band director. He was holding a microphone. Zachary did great. His friend is in beginning band, so the music was a little more challenging for him. But he learned it quickly and did well too. They have their final band concert May 12. Then Zachary gets braces the next week. He will have a little adjusting to do. But he's going to keep practicing because he's playing at our family reunion in June.

Jonathan had his end of season soccer party Saturday. He got a trophy for participation. Sorry, I didn't get a pic. Soccer will start again the end of August. His coach also has a son Benjamin's age and wants to start a team for them. I'm still debating whether I want to start him yet or not. The good thing would be that if he played on this team the practices would be at the same time and place as Jonathan's (he'd be there anyway). We would just have two games on Saturday's. We'll see.
