Climbing a mountain

So, after 18 years I climbed Sandia Peak once again. Our new friends Keith and Tracie who moved here last November wanted to climb it. And since Greg is the resident expert he agreed to take them. Tracie didn't want to be the only girl, so I went too. Zachary also joined us - it was his 3rd trip up the mountain. We parked our car at the base of the Sandia Peak Tram, hiked 2.6 miles to the La Luz trail, then 7 miles to the top. It's wasn't too hard. Just when you are starting to think you can't go any farther you've done the hardest part and there's only 1 mile to go. We rode the tram down and just like 18 years ago I was sick to my stomach for about an hour and a half. I guess it's from the rapid altitude change. Other than a few blisters on my feet I don't feel too bad today. I'm not ready to do it again anytime soon though!

One mile to go!

We made it!

It sure is beautiful at the top! I prefer the drive up there! I would love to see ABQ from the top again! I miss it! No mountains that high in New England!
