Homestudy visit

Sunday morning we had our first homestudy home visit and interviews. I really liked the social worker. She was easy to talk to and made us feel comfortable. She talked to both of us about the adoption process and what kind of child we thought would be best for our family. I'm not sure I've written about here, but we told her the we would be willing to accept up to two siblings (still girls only). We will be requesting five to six years old, but the homestudy report will say that we are willing to take younger. Technically we can't ask for younger because of the foster care requirement for 0-4 years.

She talked to the boys for a few minutes about how they felt about having a sister. Then she interviewed me alone. She asked about how I grew up, my relationship with my parents and sisters, how Greg and I met and our marriage and parenting the boys. Greg will get his turn in two or three weeks at the next visit. She'll do a home inspection next time too.

We start the required adoption/fostercare training classes (PRIDE) on Saturday.

One step closer to a daugher (or two!).

Found your blog from "We are THAT family." We adopted a daughter from foster care last year! And we homeschool, too. :)
