More from last weekend

So I'm finally getting around to updating my blog this week.

Here's what we did last weekend.

Go Hawks!
The football team won 40-21!

The band sounded great...

And looked awesome in their new uniforms!

Benjamin's soccer team got creamed 3-14. But Ben got to play a lot and had fun!

Check out that ref!

After a less than stellar record last year, Jonathan's team got off to a great start and won 2-0. Jonathan scored his first ever goal in a regular season game!

Zach

I just wanted to brag on Zachary a little. High school, so far, is going great! He is the saxophone section leader in band. In his health class, he was asked to help a student from Afganistan who barely speaks English. And his English teacher has already asked him why he's not in Honors English (I didn't want him overwhelmed his first year back in school). He thinks H.S. is a breeze. I told him I'll check back with him on that in a few weeks!

First day of school...

Well, we all survived the first day of school! Zachary went to all his classes and came home with lists of supplies he needed. After a trip to Target and $50 later I think he has everything he needs! Apparently, high school freshmen are too old to have a first day of school picture taken. This is all I got. He wouldn't look at much less smile for the camera and acted as if I had lost my mind!

Benjamin had a good start and says his work is too easy. I agree, but it will get more difficult soon! I've started teaching him piano too and we've already had tears - because he messed up! I keep telling him it doesn't have to be perfect the first time you try.

Jonathan got off to a bit of a rocky start. He thought 4th grade would be easy! After an attitude adjustment (and some serious warnings about what would happen if things didn't change), he decided it wasn't that bad.

We're registering Jonathon for the homeschool band this afternoon and band class starts next week.

1 day down 179 to go!

School starts tomorrow!

Zachary starts high school tomorrow! How am I old enough to have a kid in high school?!! He's all ready to go. Tomorrow starts at 7:30. After that, he has zero hour band at 6:30 AM! That is way to early. Thankfully we only live 2 minutes from the school.

We're starting homeschool with Jon and Ben tomorrow as well. Should be an interesting day!
